Birthday Reflections

Hey friends,

I cannot believe that I’m sitting here on my 35th birthday, 5 days away from Christmas, reflecting on 2018 both in my personal life & our year at Moore House Interiors. I am amazed, humbled, and oh so thankful for the year that the Lord has given us.

Our kids started 2nd & Kindergarten this year & I can say it’s been a JOY to be their mom during this new season. Don’t get me wrong, I loved them dearly when they were tiny, but there is something so special about watching them come into their own & watch their little minds grow. My husband & I did a lot of dreaming & intentional planning for our family. We created sooo many memories together & it just makes my heart smile thinking back on this year with those 3.

This past year with Moore House has been an unforgettable one—going from a one women show to having two employees who have become like family, hitting 11.8K on Instagram, the name change from Southern Farmhouse Designs to Moore House Interiors, the new website & designing & managing eight new builds & remodels & numerous edesign clients. Yall we have been so blessed! It’s not something that I ever take for granted. Walking through the design process with each & every client, no matter how big or small their project is, it’s an honor. Creating a home for our clients is more than just selecting pretty materials or a paycheck for me. With every project, it’s about creating a space for each client, their family & friends to walk through life together—to share love, laughter, heartaches & joys in. Our clients become our friends through this beautiful process. And we have been blessed with some of the best clients in 2018!!!

And don’t get me wrong, the whole year wasn’t flowers & sunshine, we dealt with hard things too. Two of my dear friends lost their mom’s this year, cancer diagnosis of a friend’s child. A dream that God placed on my heart came to fruition, but at the last minute fell through & we had to walk away. But during those hard times this year, I’ve seen God show up. Sisters rallying around our dear friend’s as they walk through their loss, a neighborhood coming together to help with whatever is needed for their neighbor who is walking through cancer treatments, & God showing me that my dream is still alive, but He wanted to make sure I was still listening & following Him on this journey.

For my birthday this year, I’m donating to one of my favorite non-profits Savvy Giving by Designs. Savvy Giving by Design™ is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide comfort, support, and healing to families with a child facing a medical crisis by transforming the interior spaces of their homes at no cost to them. Moore House Interiors will be matching dollar for dollar any donation made through our Fundraiser Campaign linked here. If you’d prefer to not donate, I encourage to just spend a few moments looking at their website and learning about the wonderful work they do.

People have come into our lives this year that will forever change the course of my life & our company’s future. It’s just a sweet reminder of His goodness & faithfulness.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for following along with us on our journey, for trusting us with your homes, being our cheerleaders & just making us feel so darn special.

Yall it’s sometimes hard to see the good through all the bad in today’s world, but I encourage each of you to look back on 2018 & fight to see the good-the laughter from your kid’s, a hug from a grandparent, a phone call from your mom, the sweet gift of a friendship. Remember them. Remember the sweetness of the year & thank God for every single blessing that is yours.

I pray that you & your family have the Merriest Christmas & that 2019 is the sweetest year yet for you.

xoxo-

Ashley
