Fall Mantle Decor

Fall is here and it’s time to bust out the seasonal decor! There are so many beautiful, elaborate mantle designs floating around on Instagram and Pinterest. We love seeing people’s style and creativity! However, we like to keep things simple here at Moore House Interiors and we try to buy pieces that are going to last all of fall, not just Halloween. Decorating is expensive! We want to get the most bang for our buck. If we can find pieces that work for October and November, that’s a win for us.

When styling a mantle for fall, we like to start with a base of greenery and layer in some candlesticks for height and a metal element, maybe some vintage books, a vase with some fall stems such as cotton or wheat and maybe a cute sign if you don’t have your TV above your mantle. On the hearth, we like a woven basket with a plaid blanket and maybe a seasonal pillow. Sprinkle in some velvet pumpkins if you want to incorporate pumpkins in the mix!

Here are some budget-friendly pieces you can use on your mantle! Almost all of it is from Amazon and can easily last you all of fall, even until Thanksgiving!

Candlesticks: These candlesticks are so simple yet elegant and will add a metal element to your mantle. Use some tapered candles for a look that’s perfect for fall.

Harvest Sign: If you don’t have your TV above your mantle, find a cute sign to take up some space. We like this Harvest Blessings one because it’s not Halloween or Thanksgiving specific so you can use it throughout fall without having to change it out!

Blanket: Drape this pretty plaid blanket over a woven basket on your hearth for a cozy touch! We love the colors on this blanket. Perfect for fall but, again, not holiday specific! You’ll use this great basket year-round, a great buy.

Pillow: Here’s a cute throw pillow you can lean against the basket or put on an accent chair! It’s neutral, has a vintage look and, even with pumpkins on it, you can keep it out through Thanksgiving!

Garland: This Eucalyptus garland is a great buy because you can use it year round! Use it to decorate for fall, winter, spring and summer, no matter the holiday or season. Lay it across your mantle for a great base to layer decor on. You can’t go wrong with greenery!

Velvet Pumpkins: If you want to use pumpkins in your fall mantle, grab some cute velvet pumpkins to add color and texture. They’re so cute, you’re sure to use them year after year!

Willow Stems: These pussy willow stems are so pretty and add some height to your mantle, great if you have high ceilings! Place them in a vase opposite from your candlesticks.

Cotton Stems: Can’t go wrong with some cotton stems! These one have little leaves on them and look great with fall decor.

Vase: Place your stems in a vase or vintage-style milk pitcher like this one!
