Moore House Interiors: Walker’s Way

One year after moving into their dream home and trying to furnish everything on their own, the homeowners of our Walker’s Way project in Magnolia, Texas, were overwhelmed and frustrated from constant shopping and tired of decision making. After months of scouring stores and online shops while also juggling the other responsibilities in their life, they still didn’t feel like any of their spaces were complete.

We received a call from Brad Walker, who wanted to surprise his wife, Lydia, with a design package to achieve the vision they had for their home.

The Walkers had already purchased sofas for the living room, and we added chairs, a coffee table, and beautiful finishing touches needed to complete this cozy space. To the family room, we added a large new ottoman and artwork, as well as custom barn doors.

We love the way a window seat utilizes the space and adds a special spot to read and play. We designed and custom built a stylish window seat for the home’s playroom and added a kid-friendly cushion and throw pillows. We also took the master bedroom suite to a new level—turning a once bare-bones room into a serene retreat, complete with custom drapery, beautiful art, and an inviting sitting area.

We approached this fun project with much of the same perspective we take with the rest of our work:  by first listening to clients and understanding their needs and hopes for their space. Before we pull everything together, we dive deep into conversations and planning sessions to understand the importance of finding out how they live in their home, their unique lifestyle, and ways they love to entertain—from children to pets and everything in between!

This darling family wanted their home to not only be a place of rest and memories for themselves, but they desired to create a welcoming atmosphere for others to visit, too. At Moore House Interiors, our philosophy for a home—that God created it for gathering, rest, and connection—resonated deeply with the Walker family, which made this project special for all of us.

What an honor to have the privilege to work on this project and see everything come together for this family! The joy on their faces when they walked into the reveal moment is one I’ll never forget. They felt, for the first time, that they were home.
