Planning a Football Watch Party

What better way to gather your friends and family this fall than to get together over tasty treats and football?!

And if you’re able to host your get-together outside, you can still have fun while staying socially distanced.

Let’s get started!

Entertaining Tips

Make sure each guest has easy access to the drinks and food table.

Keep messes minimal and clean-up easy! (The hostess should enjoy herself, too!) Decorative paper products or melamine platters simplify planning and they can also add some fun and festivity to the color scheme.

To keep things as germ-free and easy to handle as possible, opt for finger food options or pre-packed items for individual servings. Stock your drinks table with bottled waters or personalized cups for each guest. If you’re serving alcohol, be conscientious of non-drinkers and include a variety of non-alcoholic options, too, like lemonade, sweet tea, soft drinks, or flavored sparkling water.

At many football watch parties, men seem to congregate around the TV and women end up chit-chatting near the kitchen or somewhere else nearby! Make sure you have at least two seating areas ready for your guests.

Keep cleaning supplies on hand—just in case of emergencies! Folex is a great product I rely on to clean spills of all kinds.

A Crowd-pleasing Menu

No party is complete without a delicious menu that keeps your guests coming back for seconds—or thirds!

These are a few of our tried-and-true recipes we come back to again and again:

It’s hard to beat a tasty, cold glass on sangria on a cool, fall day! This recipe is my favorite—it packs in so many delicious flavors.

A chili bar is my go-to solution to feed a crowd—especially at a football watch party! Serve the chili straight from a big pot on the stove and line up all of the toppings nearby for a chili bar-style serving station for easy, fun entertaining that lets everyone pile on their favorites. I love offering my guests cheese, chopped onion, sour cream, corn chips, jalapenos, and anything else I have on hand that I think they will love!
