Fall Tablescapes & Entertaining

One of my favorite aspects of fall is gathering together with friends and family. As the temperatures cool down and the days grow shorter, a cozy dinner party with my favorite people is at the top of my mind.

Whether you call a group of friends last minute to come over for a chili dinner or you’re organizing a Thanksgiving party, it’s fun to plan a menu and pull out some festive pieces for your table!

Bake Like a Pro

If you’re like me, you’ve been spending a lot more time in the kitchen in 2020. There is no better time to pick up a new baking skill than now as we get closer to the holiday season—and what autumn meal is complete without dessert?!

My friend, Amy, from Pie Prerogative, is hosting a special Facebook live virtual pie-making class on November 17. Join me, and we’ll learn step-by-step how to make a homemade pie crust and filling together.

You can sign up here. With your registration, you’ll be given supply lists for ingredients to make Amy’s tried-and-true pie crust recipe as well as two filling choices. She’ll walk us through each step and show us how to make a homemade Thanksgiving apple or pecan pie, from start to finish. At the end of the class, our pies will be ready to bake and freeze—and we’ll have Thanksgiving dessert checked off our lists!

Autumn Tabletop Pieces

Rich, autumn-colored hues are my favorite way to add color and pull together my fall tables décor. I love to add a variety of fresh or reusable pumpkins with brightly-colored fall flowers, or, even just arranging some clippings from my own garden or these juniper stems for a festive centerpiece.

How pretty are these plum and amber-colored wine glasses?! They are the perfect addition to your entertaining cabinet and will take your tables from early fall to early spring!

I use these hammered napkin rings all the time, and I especially love to pair them with linen napkins. One of my favorite ways to dress up a table is by incorporating gold accents and soft textiles.

Another must-have for your table throughout the year, these candlesticks are the perfect size and color of metal for any occasion—casual or dressy, and indoor or outdoor. I love mixing these votive candle holders with the candlesticks for a more dramatic effect, or using them on their own for a soft, romantic glow!

These wooden plates are all about versatility: they are perfect used as dinner plates or as wooden chargers! When I’m setting a rustic-styled table (a favorite for fall!), these are my go-to plates of choice.

Don’t forget to add some cute name tags to your tablescape! I recently started using this deep orange-colored ribbon to tie a name tag to a guest’s wine glass or place setting when I’m entertaining.
